What do you do with hundreds of duplicate bricks?

You've got 60 white 1×2 plates. And 80 grey 1×4 bricks. What on earth do you do with those?

1. Build a mosaic

With 60 plates of one colour, you can create a simple mosaic tile (10×6 grid = letter, symbol or mini-portrait). Stack multiple layers for relief.

2. A wall or floor for your MOC

Large building projects need plenty of identical bricks. A school building with 4 storeys can easily use 200+ white 2×4 bricks. Your duplicates suddenly become your primary supply.

3. Trade with other builders

LEGO® forums (Eurobricks, /r/lego, Brickset) have active trading threads. Send a list of what you have and what you're looking for — people often find each other.

4. Sorting as a hobby

It sounds dull, but for many collectors sorting is a meditative escape. Organising a tub of identical bricks is satisfying in a way you only understand once you try it.

What we DON'T recommend

• Throwing them away (eternally durable plastic, bad for the environment)
• Selling individually on Marktplaats (shipping costs are more expensive than the bricks)
• Giving them to your dog (choking hazard, never a good idea)

In short: duplicates are a feature, not a bug. Your collection grows, your MOCs get bigger.
