Buy a set when you:

• Want to build a specific model (Hogwarts, a Technic car, etc.)
• Enjoy following instructions
• Want to build a finished collection
• Are giving a gift to someone who won't design their own

Sets contain guaranteed all necessary pieces, an instruction manual, and often unique prints or special bricks.

Bulk is for those who want to design themselves

Buy bulk when you:

• Want to build what you imagine, without instructions
• Are missing a specific colour or size brick in your collection
• Enjoy sorting and organising as a hobby in itself
• Want a background collection for MOCs, mosaics or scenes
• Make stop-motion or photography and need loose pieces

Bulk contains no instruction manual and no guarantee of specific pieces — what you get is what you see in the photo.

Roughly:

• New LEGO® set: €0.10–€0.15 per gram
• Bulk LEGO® via Bulkbricks: €0.025–€0.04 per gram

So 3-5 times cheaper per gram. But you pay for 'open' building, not a finished model.

When is a brick rental shop better?

For complete rental sets — for a party or short build — a brick rental service is better. You get a complete set including instructions and minifigures, for just a few euros per day.
